CAIRO, April 3 (Aswat Masriya) Egypt's leading Islamic authority Al-Azhar condemned on Thursday the Cairo University bombings that killed two people on Wednesday and wounded six people.
Al-Azhar expressed concern over the rise of insurgency.
“Killing and terrorising innocents is forbidden by Islam and all monotheistic religions. Islam rejects terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,” said a statement published on Al-Azhar's official website.
Three bombs exploded outside Cairo University on Wednesday.
Egypt's cabinet is scheduled to convene on Thursday to discuss the draft law on confronting terrorism.
