A fire broke out near the perimeters of the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square where clashes erupted between supporters and opponents of President Mohamed Mursi on Friday.
TV footage showed heavy smoke near the museum located between Tahrir Square and Abdel Moneim Riad Square.
Radio Misr reported that an “unknown” group set two buses that were transporting protesters on fire near the museum. No casualties were reported.
The two buses belonged to the Freedom and Justice Party, eye witnesses told Nile News TV.
According to Radio Misr, clashes moved from Tahrir to Abdel Moneim Riad under the October 6th Bridge.
