ASWAN, April 9 (Aswat Masriya) Aswan's Ben al-Helal and al-Dabodeya tribes agreed on Wednesday to extend their three-day truce to a month a few hours before it ended, Head of Arab tribes in Aswan Salem Abu Ghazela said.
Abu Ghazela added that the extended truce is meant to calm the situation after violent confrontations killed at least 24 people in Aswan.
Efforts will be made during the one-month truce to reach a final reconciliation between the two tribes and find out the real assailants, according to Abu Ghazela.
Egyptian Premier Ibrahim Mahlab will visit the troubled governorate again on Sunday, reported the state-owned news agency. Mahlab paid a visit to the Aswan on Saturday and ordered that a fact finding committee be formed to investigate the violence.
