Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Kamel Amr, has declined continuing in his post in the new cabinet that is currently being formed by interim Prime Minister Hazem el-Beblawi, reported the state news agency.
Amr said that the new phase required a new leadership for the ministry of foreign affairs, adding that he would continue to conduct his work until a new minister is appointed.
Amr had tendered his resignation to deposed Islamist President Mohamed Mursi in solidarity with the demands of the Egyptian people, who staged protests across the country against Mursi on June 30.
