Chairman of the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights Hafez Abu Saada has asked the assembly who is writing Egypt's constitution to terminate its operations until a verdict on President Mohamed Mursi's ratification of its makeup is reached.
The rights lawyer pointed out that the assembly has lost its legitimacy among the people long before its constitutionality and thus is not fit to write a constitution for the country.
He posted on Twitter that Mursi's decision was not published in the national gazette which may hurt the assembly's constitutionality.
Egypt’s Administrative Court decided on Tuesday to refer the case of the constitution-writing assembly to the Supreme Constitutional Court.
