Deputy of the Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party, Essam al-Erian, said that Egypt's new constitution, currently in the making, will be the best in Egypt's history.
"Those who attack the constituent assembly were deprived from participating in the writing of the constitution... and thus do not wish to see it issued without them in the picture", Erian pointed out in a statement to the party's newspaper on Monday.
Erian encouraged those who criticize the assembly to come forward with their suggestions and discuss them with the assembly "instead of unjustifiably attacking it".
A number of liberal and leftist figures resigned from the assembly when its makeup was announced, accusing Islamists, particularly the FJP and Salafi Nour Party, of dominating it.
Erian told the FJP newspaper that most disputes over controversial articles have been settled, leaving only a few to settle.
