CAIRO, Mar 8 (Aswat Masriya) - Tourism will suffer more than before in the short term after 12 European countries issued travel warnings for Egypt, said Tourism Minister Hisham Za'zou'.

The minister described Germany's warning to its citizens against travel to Egypt after a bus carrying tourists in Taba was bombed as "hasty".

Twelve countries in Western Europe have decided to issue travel warnings for Sinai's Sharm al-Sheikh, Za'zou' told the German Deutsch Villa website.

The ministry is working on "raising security level in touristic areas generally and in Sharm al-Sheikh specifically", the minister said on the sidelines of the International Berlin Tourism fair.

Terrorist attacks happen everywhere in the world and no country can claim there is no risk in that regard, he added.

Two Korean tourists and an Egyptian citizen were killed in a bus bombing in Taba in February.

The extremist terrorist group Ansar Bait al-Maqdis has claimed responsibility for the attack, which is the first of its kind since the 2011 revolution.

European tourists constitute 70 percent of the current total number of tourists coming to Egypt.
