Egypt’s interim president Adly Mansour met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday to discuss the latest developments in Palestine.  

Abbas arrived to Cairo on Saturday for a three-day visit where he is expected to meet with high ranking Egyptian officials, including Prime Minister Hazem al-Beblawy, Defense Minister Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy and Azhar's top Imam Ahmed al-Tayeb.

The Palestinian president will discuss efforts to enhance relations between the two countries in light of Palestinian reconciliation efforts and the peace treaty. 

Cairo has always sponsored talks and efforts for Palestinian reconciliation. 

This is the second visit that Abbas has made to Cairo since the army ousted President Mohamed Mursi in July in response to mass demonstrations.
