Egypt’s Supreme Constitutional Court has ruled the ‘political exclusion law’ unconstitutional, reported Al-Jazeera.
The law was drafted to prevent presidential candidate Ahmed Shafiq, who served as Hosni Mubarak’s last premier, from running for office.
Shafiq is competing against the Muslim Brotherhood’s Mohamed Mursi in the run-off of Egypt’s first post-January 25 Revolution, scheduled for June 16 – 17.
