The Social Democratic Party's women committee called on the new government to set clear policies to regulate population growth in order to fulfill social justice, establish sustainable development and enhance the standards of economic and social development.
The committee said in a statement to Aswat Masriya that there are no clear demographic policies on the national level, in post-January 25 Egypt.
It added that there is a decline in the services provided to organize families in health clinics.
The committee warned of the negative consequences of the rapid population increase on the health of women, children and entire families.
Consequences of unreasonable population growth include dropping out of school, poverty, building on fertile land, pressure on water sources, environmental pollution and decline in a variety of services.
