A criminal court accepted former Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif's appeal against his detention pending an investigation in illicit gains and ordered his release on Thursday. 

A court granted the Hosni Mubarak premier a retrial last week and annulled a ruling that sentenced him to three years in prison.
