CAIRO, Dec 9 (Aswat Masriya)- Six security personnel were killed and three others injured in an explosion on Friday morning in Haram district in Giza, the interior ministry said.
In a statement, the ministry said that the deceased include two police officers, three conscripts and one low-ranking policeman.
The ministry added that three conscripts were injured and are being hospitalised.
The explosion targeted an area with high security presence. It took place in the vicinity of al-Salam mosque.
Militants have stepped up attacks targeting security forces in Egypt, since the ouster of Islamist President Mohamed Mursi in July 2013 after mass protests against his rule.
