CAIRO, Aug 18 (Aswat Masriya) - Egypt condemned a "terrorist" attack that has killed at least seven people, and wounded over 220 more on Thursday in southeast Turkey.

A police station in Elazig was attacked by a car bomb on Thursday morning. According to Reuters at least seven members of the Turkish security forces were killed, and over 220 people, including security members were wounded.

"The Egyptian people express solidarity with the Turkish people in this terrorist attack that does not differentiate between religion or race, and seeks to hinder the stability of people across the world," the Egyptian foreign ministry said in an official statement.

Egyptian ties with Turkey have deteriorated since 2013, when Abdel Fattah al-Sisi led a military ouster of then-president Mohamed Mursi, following mass protests against Mursi's rule.
