CAIRO, Jul 23 (Aswat Masriya) - Four people are missing at sea after a pleasure boat capsized on Saturday in the waters of Ras Sudr located on the Red Sea coast, reported State-run MENA news agency.

Naval forces rescued two of the people on deck but four are still missing.

Citing head of the fishermen syndicate in Suez Bakri Abu al-Hassan, MENA reported that the pleasure boat capsized due to a hole in the hull which allowed water to flood in.

On Friday, naval forces rescued five tourists, including two Americans, and four crew members from drowning after a tourist boat capsized in the waters of the Red Sea resort town of Hurghada, said the Egyptian army spokesman.

Hurghada and Ras Sudr are among the popular tourist destinations in Egypt. 

Egypt lost about 51.7 per cent of its tourists in May, the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) said earlier in July.

Approximately 431,800 tourists visited Egypt last May compared to 894,600 in May 2015, said the agency in a statement.

The tourism industry is struggling to rebound after years of political turmoil and a series of incidents targeting the country’s most vital source of foreign currency.
