Egypt to cooperate with Greece, France in search for missing plane

CAIRO, May 19 (Aswat Masriya) - The Egyptian armed forces are participating in rescue missions, in cooperation with Greece, to find the missing EgyptAir flight, official spokesperson Mohamed Samir said on Thursday.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi also received a phone call from his French counterpart, François Hollande, in which the two agreed to cooperate in investigations over the missing plane, the state-owned MENA reported. 

The flight, MS804, disappeared off the radar as it was crossing the Mediterranean at 2:45 Cairo time en route from Paris to Cairo, EgyptAir said early Thursday morning. 

There are approximately 30 Egyptians on board the flight, EgyptAir said.

The company added on its twitter account that there were 56 passengers on the flight. The passengers also include 15 French nationals, two Iraqi nationals, a British national, a Saudi national, a Portuguese national, a Belgian, a Kuwaiti, a Chadian, an Algerian, and a Canadian.

The flight also includes 10 EgyptAir crew members on board.
