CAIRO, Apr 11 (Aswat Masriya) - Pope Tawadros II, head of the Coptic Orthodox Church, presided over the mass held at St. Mark Cathedral in Abbasiya to celebrate the Coptic Feast of Resurrection on Saturday night.
Around three thousand Coptic Egyptians attended the mass, reported the state agency MENA.
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi sent a representative from the presidency to attend the ceremony, alongside a number of ministers, foreign ambassadors and church representatives, reported MENA.
Egypt's ministers of interior and culture visited Pope Tawadros II at the cathedral earlier on Saturday at the event of the feast.
The Feast of Resurrection is a Coptic celebration preceded by 55 days of lent.
