CAIRO, July 3 (Aswat Masriya) - Police forces arrested 39 wanted Muslim Brotherhood supporters and 157 demonstrators who took part in protests across Egypt on Thursday, said the Interior Ministry.

Of the 39 Brotherhood supporters arrested today, 17 were arrested in Cairo, four in Giza, nine in Minya, and three in Qena, the ministry said on its Facebook page.

The ministry also arrested 157 "rioters" in Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Daqahliya, Monofeya, Damietta, Fayoum, Minya, and Assiut and found petrol bombs and fireworks in their possession.

The National Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy had called on its allies to rally on Thursday 3 July, which marks the first anniversary of deposed President Mohamed Mursi's ouster.

Today marks Mursi's removal from power after mass protests against his ruling and demands of holding early presidential elections.
