CAIRO, Feb 2 (Aswat Masriya) Journalist Belal Fadl said on Sunday that Al-Shorouk has refused to publish his new articles about Field Marshal Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and instead published an apology on his behalf without his knowledge.

Fadl added on his Twitter account that in recent weeks, his articles were exposed to serious pressure.

Aswat Masriya could neither reach the newspaper’s editor in chief nor Fadl for further comment.

"My articles were not banned under Mubarak, Tantawi or Mursi," Fadl said, adding that Sisi is not even president yet.

Sisi gained wide popularity after his ouster of Islamist President Mohamed Mursi of the Muslim Brotherhood in July in response to mass demonstrations across the country.

He added, “I’m proud that I participated with my writings in the fall of the Brotherhood, but that will not stop me from attacking the hijacking of June 30 to militarize the country and return it to oppression, and I’m proud of all that I write.”
