CAIRO, Mar 1 (Aswat Masriya) - Police forces arrested 14 pro-Muslim Brotherhood supporters on Friday during clashes in Cairo's Ain Shams, Marg, and Waili areas.

One child was killed and two policemen were injured when Ain Shams residents and security forces clashed with Brotherhood supporters. Police fired teargas bombs and shotgun pellets at the demonstrators to disband them.

Ashraf Raafat, 13, was killed in clashes between security and Brotherhood allies in Matariya area, the Cairo security directorate said.

Captain Khaled Hussein suffered an exit wound in the abdomen and conscript Nagi Mohamed Ragab sustained an eye injury, the Middle East News Agency reported the directorate as saying.

A group of Brotherhood elements gathered in Ain Shams and Marg areas on Friday and chanted against the state, prompting local residents to clash with them.

Several Brotherhood supporters fired shots in the air and torched a microbus and car tires. They also hurled a homemade bomb at the security forces but it did not explode. Bomb squads managed to defuse the bomb before it exploded.

In Alexandria, one person was shot dead and a child was injured in clashes between local residents and Muslim Brotherhood supporters, a medical source told Aswat Masriya on Friday.

The National Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy has urged its supporters to stage week-long demonstrations starting Friday.
