CAIRO, Jun 28 (Aswat Masriya) - Three people were sentenced to one year with labour by an Egyptian misdemeanour court on Sunday for creating a music video that was recently circulated online.

They were convicted for encouraging "immorality".     

In May, the music video, which featured two of the defendants and was filmed by the third, stirred controversy for using suggestive language and gestures. It featured a male and a female star. 

On May 25, the North Giza prosecutor referred the three individuals to "immediate trial" for appearing in an "immoral" music video. They were charged with "publishing scandalous images," and "misusing communication media."

Earlier in May, Egypt's Administrative Court ordered Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb  to take the necessary measures to ban porn websites inside the country.

In November 2012, the state's top prosecutor ordered a ban on porn websites and on any pornographic image or scene on the internet that may be "inconsistent" with Egyptian values and traditions or the "supreme interests" of the state.
