CAIRO, Feb 11 (Aswat Masriya) – Accidents caused by a dust storm in Egypt have left seven people dead and 21 injured, the health ministry said on Wednesday.

The inclement weather started on Tuesday and continued through Wednesday, causing accidents in six cities across the nation.

Experts from Egypt's Meteorological Authority said they expect the weather to improve on Thursday despite continued wind activity in the north of the country, state-run news agency MENA reported.  

The storm has affected visibility and forced several ports across the country to close for two days in a row.

The head of civil aviation, Ihab Mohye told MENA that nine aeroplanes scheduled to land in Cairo's airport had to divert and land elsewhere.

He added, however, that flights are departing normally from the airport, since visibility does not affect them to the same extent.
