Political analyst and former Member of Parliament Amr Hamzawy said on Tuesday that Egypt has fallen prey to two fascists.
In a post on Twitter on Tuesday, Hamzawy said that Egypt is torn between religious fascists inciting violence and a fascism of oppression and exclusion in the name of national interests.
He added that the people will pay for the struggle between the two fascist camps with “their lives, safety, national security, democracy, freedoms and rights which we are drifting further from in light speed.”
Hamzawy is a member of the National Salvation Front that helped mobilize the masses that toppled Islamist President Mohamed Mursi.
Seven people were killed and 261 were injured in clashes that erupted late on Monday and continued until the early hours of Tuesday.
