Hundreds of the Sharm Al-Sheikh airport security staff went on strike on Wednesday to protest a decision of transferring 150 of them to different airports, bringing airport operations to paralysis.
The striking workers described the transport minister's decision, to transfer some of them to Luxor and Aswan airports, as a punishment for demanding better living conditions.
They demanded sacking the director of the airport's security, Abdel Fattah Harb, for not meeting their "fair demands".
The guards complained from inadequate housing and poor living conditions.
Meanwhile, around 40 port guards have also went on strike in the Nuweiba port, protesting a decision to move them to a different port.
