Egypt’s Minister of Awqaf (Endowments) Talaat Afifi has called for keeping the demonstrations planned for June 30 peaceful.

He asked protesters to express their demands in a reasonable, civilised manner and urged them to abstain from using violence.

Since we were content to resort to the ballot box to choose our ruler, we should respect that choice, the state-owned news agency MENA reported Afifi as saying.

Objection and expression of opinion should not turn into chaos, he added.
